Get up and Get Dressed

Get up and Get Dressed

In Romans where it is urging us to not be slothful, it actually tells us to get up and get dressed in Christ. The words truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation are more than words. In Ephesians 6:11 it says that we must put on the full armor of God. You see, that is some of the cool things Jesus did for us when He put into place for us to become more than conquerer’s. He did all the strain and work and conquered every high thing that tried to exalt itself above God. All principalities and powers of darkness have been ruined and conquered for our behalf. Then He did not leave His children with out the power or the tools to become more than conquerer’s with Him. The only instruction of the mystery that man fumbles with is this, we try over and over to do it ourselves, alone until we are backed into a corner.

We must awake and realize how to put on our habitation. When we make our habitation in God we take on bearing the armor. Without putting on all the armor of Christ would be like going into battle naked and all alone with no weapons or protection. Even though David did not have anything but a sling and a rock, and all that stood before him was overwhelming odds of a giant, he walked right out in a face to face confrontation. He had Faith and assurance that God would prevail against all odds. Do you think David had conversations with God? I believe he prayed much and prayed long to know the heart of God. May you walk in the confidence of your Faith to carry you through the fire. May we all learn how to get dressed in Christ everyday, for the time of Salvation draws to a close soon and there is much to do while it is still day! Mike Maxson
Romans 13:12
The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. 13 We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. 14 Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!

Walk into Destiny

Walk into Destiny

If there is one consistency in scripture that stands out everywhereI look, it is this. Jesus confronts us with choices from start to finish. Can we work hard enough to save ourselves, NO! Can we make up for our sin and iniquities of the past, NO. Will we ever be able to stand alone to conquer the enemy who wages war against our mission of the gospel, NO! Are we strong enough to set out on a God adventure in our own status and power of intellect, NO!So many people I see are still standing as the old man, waiting to be changed. Waiting for the deliverance of the old man so they may carry on into the new method or way of life. In Ephesians 4 for just one example it talks of the old man vs. the new man. What I see with this transformation in scripture, it has everything to do with our choice to step out from the old ways of living into new choices of living different. Is it actually possible to step into a new world of living? It is like sailing away to an undiscovered land where no man has been before. A whole adventure awaits us through the door of living as a child of the day. What happens so often, we wait till we wallow in our darkness so long waiting to have deliverance from hurts or sin we have not given up yet, we don’t believe we are even worthy of the gifts God has for us. While we stay in our comfort zone of secret sin and worldly attractions, dreaming about the other side and destiny like it’s so far from us and almost unattainable. There you are paralyzed in a vacuum, dead and always dissatisfied and cannot even see yourself in the future. Walking into Destiny is just that, choosing to step from that side of the line to this side of the line. When God gave His Son Jesus as a pure full sacrifice, He accomplished EVERYTHING for you and conquered every obstacle in your way! Did He care about conquering every immoral sensuous thought that may come, YES. did He know that some would battle oppression of the mind, YES. Did He know you would be rejected, neglected, and alone, YES. Did He provide for all the things you would need, YES. Did He know that everything in your life would be shaken to the core, YES that’s where He can speak to you.Did He want you to be desperate enough to cross the line by yourself, YES. Will He replace all your insecurities with confidence and boldness, YES. Are all things on that side of the line easy, NO.Will He walk with me, YES so close you will feel His breath, know His thoughts, make all His moves in sync! What majestic and marvelous plans He has made for our destiny and the thought of not stepping into it would be so sad to Him! We are not the first disciple to make this choice. He has expected this all along from all of those who believe. I encourage you today to make that choice, don’t wait or waste another day floundering in this world aimlessly. Get going and show up for His daily class of direction for what you are to do. He wants to confirm you as an earthly Father would do to his child. Confirm you and set you apart for His purpose, for He made you special to carry a special Word a special way that only you could do.Your light was meant to shatter darkness, not to be hidden under a basket. Just let Him prepare you properly and in His time you will be released into what you were made for.

Maverick or Messenger

From the Upper Room

Maverick or Messenger

Reflecting on the motives of ministry and the successes and failures of mankind when stepping in the mud of ministry. The maverick is usually an independent, self made, bold, impatient personality that wants instant results. Ready for and very demanding for manifestations, but not willing for time in the closet, classroom or seclusion. Instead of waiting and listening for the voice of God or mentorship, just wanting to be heard for the sake of self gratification. The maverick is driven by discontentment, looking for the next exciting method of the quick fix where the multitude gathers.

Even Jesus noticed these temptations and tendencies amongst the disciples under his wings. They were to be Messengers of the Gospel, and for them to carry this important news to the nations He was tempering their maturity. The Messenger were going to be tested by fire and readied by Truth and Love. He would not release them too soon for the message they were carrying was the most important message mankind could ever hear. The Master (Jesus) (truth) (love) would not release them until they we fully equipped. Sometimes He would walk away from the crowd and separate himself from the multitudes just to see if they would follow Him. The ones that did were blessed with much insight and wisdom as they sought to be honed to sharp instruments. Messengers must get the message right in the fullness of Christ, that is why He poured all of Himself into them, for they were to carry Christ Jesus to the far reaches of the earth to one soul at a time. Redemption of man was in the balance! You want to be in the thick of the fight to save the world from eternal Hell and damnation, prepare like the true warrior He called you to be. Jesus released the disciples after much relationship, teaching, practical Q&A, and many sessions of thought provoking lessons. Challenges of love beyond what they could imagine were Given to them daily. After all the mentorship, there was still something that was going to unleash all the truth in them to the world and without it, they would step in the mud of ministry only to fail. He would pour into them His Spirit! Be a Messenger not a Maverick!

Ephesians 4:15

God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love–like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. 16 He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.
