Are You Ready?

Jesus Christ Return

A thief does not come up to a house and knock on the door. Robbery is something that happens suddenly and at a time people do not expect it to occur. What about us in terms of Christ’s return? Should we not be ready? Do we not know the times and the seasons? Yes, we do. We have every reason to be able to be prepared should the “thief” arrive, that is, should Christ return.  ~John W. Ritenbaugh

1 Thessalonians 5:2

2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

We are close to the return of Jesus Christ; the world is filled with all kinds of signs of the end. They wear at us and worry us. We see them on television and hear them on the radio—everywhere we look, we see signs of the times. It is a stressful situation to be in, and still, Christ does not come. We say, “How long, Lord, will it be ’til You come?”

We can become neglectful. We can let our focus slip. We need to be exhorted and stirred.

Christ gives the first-century church a warning in Revelation 2:1-7, His message to the Ephesian church. He points out their problem. He gives them advice as to what they should do, and then at the end, He provides incentive for them to correct the situation that they had allowed themselves to deteriorate into.  ~John W. Ritenbaugh

Revelation 2:1-7

A Letter to the Church in Ephesus

1“To the messenger of the church in Ephesus, write:

The one who holds the seven stars in his right hand, the one who walks among the seven gold lamp stands, says: 2I know what you have done—how hard you have worked and how you have endured. I also know that you cannot tolerate wicked people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not apostles. You have discovered that they are liars. 3You have endured, suffered trouble because of my name, and have not grown weary. 4However, I have this against you: The love you had at first is gone. 5Remember how far you have fallen. Return to me and change the way you think and act, and do what you did at first. I will come to you and take your lamp stand from its place if you don’t change. 6But you have this in your favor—you hate what the Nicolaitans are doing. I also hate what they’re doing.

7“Let the person who has ears listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will give the privilege of eating from the tree of life, which stands in the paradise of God, to everyone who wins the victory.

Lawmakers to Obama: Correct reference to US motto as ‘In God We Trust’…

Members of Congress on Monday called on President Obama to issue a public correction after he incorrectly labeled E pluribus unum the U.S.’s motto in a speech last month, rather than “In God We Trust.” The lawmakers, members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, also said the president was making “a p…    Read Full Story

Health Care, HOW DID THEY VOTE? – FIND YOUR STATE…

House Democrats pass historical health-care legislation
Here’s how the House voted on the Senate health-care bill March 21. The 219-212 vote was followed by another on a package of reconciliation fixes, which passed 220-211. Three Democrats switched their votes between the Senate bill and the reconciliation “fixes.” Reps. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) and Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) voted against the Senate bill but for the reconcilation bill. Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.) voted for the Senate bill but against the reconciliation bill.

WE HAVE COME TO TAKE OUR GOVERNMENT BACK

“I HAVE A MESSAGE FROM THE TEA PARTY: WE HAVE COME TO TAKE OUR GOVERNMENT BACK”

Trey Grayson, Kentucky, Secretary of State, was backed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and former Vice President Dick Cheney, was soundly defeated by Tea Party favorite Rand Paul. In Pennsylvania, five-term Sen. Arlen Specter, who ditched the Republican Party last year to save his career, ended up being sent into retirement anyway by Rep. Joe Sestak in the Democratic primary.

And in Arkansas, Sen. Blanche Lincoln was forced into a runoff against Lt. Gov. Bill Halter after she failed to win the majority of votes in the Democratic primary.

The results of Tuesday’s races sent a clear message to Washington that the anti-incumbent wave that has gripped the nation over the past year isn’t losing steam.

The latest primaries were closely watched for clues to how angry the electorate is about a weak economy, record-high deficits, two ongoing wars and a Washington environment that critics say favors rhetoric over results.

If recent elections highlight an undercurrent of voter anger, it remains to be seen how that anger will affect November’s midterm elections, when Republicans will challenge Democrats for control of both chambers in Congress.

Yet one thing seems certain — these are uncertain times for career politicians!  (READ MORE)

Israel “Iran, totally unacceptable”

ynet: Israel denounced Iran’s fueling up of its first nuclear power plant as “totally unacceptable” and called for more international pressure to force Tehran to cease any uranium enrichment.

Christians in South Korea Demand Japan’s Action

At a rally in central Seoul to mark the anniversary of the end of Japanese colonial rule, tens of thousands of South Korean Christians demanded on Sunday that Japan officially nullify a 1910 accord to annex the Korean peninsula. It is estimated that the event drew about 150,000 people while organisers claimed one million Christians took part in rallies and prayer services nationwide. Historians say a pro-Japanese government in Seoul was forced to sign the accord to help Japan annex the peninsula in 1910 until its World War II defeat in 1945. “We declare the 1910 accord invalid and want the Japanese government to clarify its official position about this,” the Christians said in a statement.  Naoto Kan, Prime Minister of Japan, offered an apology for Japan’s past actions, and is working to build stronger ties with South Korea.

CIA chief warns Iran could have nukes ready by 2012

June 28, 2010

SpaceDaily.com reports: “Iran has enough low-enriched uranium to make two weapons, which it could have prepared and ready for delivery as early as 2012, CIA director Leon Panetta warned Sunday.

‘We think they have enough low-enriched uranium for two weapons,’ Panetta told the ABC network’s ‘This Week’ program.

Tehran would need a year to enrich it fully to produce a bomb and it would take ‘another year to develop the kind of weapon delivery system in order to make that viable,’ he said.

Iran is under mounting international pressure over its suspect nuclear program, which the West fears masks a covert weapons drive.

The Islamic republic vehemently denies the charge, but has been flexing its military muscle mainly in the strategic Gulf region by staging regular war games and showcasing an array of Iran-manufactured missiles…”

US & Israel Warships in Suez May Be Prelude to Faceoff with Iran

Egypt allowed at least one Israeli and 11 American warships to pass through the Suez Canal as an Iranian flotilla approaches Gaza. Egypt closed the canal to protect the ships with thousands of soldiers, according to the British-based Arabic language newspaper Al Quds al-Arabi.

International agreements require Egypt to keep the Suez open even for warships, but the armada, led by the USS Truman with 5,000 sailors and marines, was the largest in years. Egypt closed the canal to fishing and other boats as the armada moved through the strategic passageway that connects the Red and Mediterranean Seas.

Despite Egypt’s reported refusal to block the canal to Iranian boats, the clearance for the American-Israeli fleet may be a warning to Iran it may face military opposition if the Iranian Red Crescent ship continues on course to Gaza.

Is Jesus Christ The Only Way?

Many think there are many ways to Heaven; by being a good person, living a good life, following any religion (especially those who promote peace, or help others).  Here is what the Bible has to say…

John 8:24
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I [Jesus Christ] am he, ye shall die in your sins.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other [Jesus Christ]: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 16:30-31
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:13
For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Jesus as Lord] will be saved.

Galatians 3:26
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:7
In whom we have redemption through his [Jesus Christ] blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Colossians 1:20
And, having made peace through the blood of his [Jesus Christ] cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

1 John 5:11-12
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son [Jesus Christ].
He that hath the Son [Jesus Christ] hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

2 Timothy 3:15
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Revelation 1:5-8
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Is Jesus Christ The Only Way?  I know so!  400 times the Bible says it’s through Jesus Christ, and 700 times through His Blood.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Saudi Arabia gives Israel clear skies to attack Iranian nuclear sites…

Timesonline Reports:  Saudi Arabia has conducted tests to stand down its air defenses to enable Israeli jets to make a bombing raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Times can reveal.

To ensure the Israeli bombers pass freely, Riyadh has carried out tests to make certain its own jets are not scrambled and missile defence systems not activated. Once the Israelis are through, the kingdom’s air defences will return to full alert.

“The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way,” said a US defence source in the area. “They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren’t scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the [US] State Department.”

Despite tensions between them, Israel and Saudi Arabia share a mutual hostility to Iran.

‘We all know this. We will let them [the Israelis] through and see nothing,’ the Times quoted a Saudi government source as saying.

According to the report, the four main targets for an Israeli raid on Iran would be uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz and Qom, a gas storage development at Isfahan and a heavy-water reactor at Arak.

Secondary targets may include a Russian-built light water reactor at Bushehr, which could produce weapons-grade plutonium when complete…”

Pope Benedict Pleads for Forgiveness

Top Vatican officials — including the future Pope Benedict XVI — did not deny a priest who molested as many as 200 deaf boys, even though several American bishops repeatedly warned them that failure to act on the matter could embarrass the church, according to church files newly unearthed as part of a lawsuit.

Pope Benedict begged for forgiveness for the paedophile priest scandals that have shaken faith in the Roman Catholic Church.

The pontiff pledged to “do everything possible” to ensure that prelates don’t rape or molest children ever again.

Pope Benedict said: “And so it happened that, in this very year of joy for the sacrament of the priesthood, the sins of priests came to light, particularly the abuse of the little ones.

“We insistently beg forgiveness from God and from the persons involved, while promising to do everything possible to ensure that such abuse will never occur again.”

The Victims groups had been hoping for a mea cupla and clear-cut action plan to protect children weren’t satisfied, and his legacy at the Vatican office that dealt with sex abuse has come under scrutiny.

Egypt to strip men married to Israelis of citizenship

A Cairo court yesterday upheld a ruling to strip Egyptian men married to Israeli women of their citizenship in a case that has highlighted national sentiment towards Israel.

Judge Mohamed al-Husseini, sitting on the Supreme Administrative Court, said the interior ministry must ask the cabinet to take the necessary steps to strip Egyptian men married to Israeli women, and their children, of their citizenship.
The court said that each case should be considered separately, in a ruling that cannot be appealed.

The ruling reflects Egyptian sentiment towards Israel, more than 30 years after Egypt signed an unpopular peace deal with the Jewish state.
Before reading the verdict, Husseini said the case would not apply to Egyptian men married to Arab Israeli women.

“The case for (Egyptian) men married to Israeli Arab women is different to those married to Israeli women of Jewish origin because (Israeli Arabs) have lived under Israeli occupation,” Husseini told the court.
“The court’s decision is taking into account Egypt’s national security,” the judge said.

“The decision comes as Israel continues its assault on those who love peace. The latest example is the aggression against the aid boat which was heading towards the blockaded Gaza Strip,” he added.

On Monday, Israeli naval commandos raided a humanitarian flotilla carrying aid to the blockaded Gaza Strip, in a bungled operation that left nine pro-Palestinian activists dead and scores injured.

Israel recoils as US backs nuclear move

The United States strong backing of a UN resolution for a nuclear-free Middle East that singles out Israel has both angered and deeply worried the Jewish state.

This United Nations resolution forces Israel to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), opening Israeli facilities for UN inspection.

Israel is believer to be the only Mid East nuclear power, and has maintained a policy of deliberate ambiguity about its capabilities since the mid-1960s.

The resolution singles out Israel but contains no mention of Iran’s nuclear program.

According to the top-selling Yediot Aharonot daily, the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was “furious with the Obama administration for having failed to prevent the resolution from passing… and for choosing to support it.”

“The American support for the resolution, after decades in which it supported Israel on this issue, came as a complete surprise,” the paper said.

“In the secret talks that Netanyahu held with Obama’s men… Israel was promised that the resolution would not focus on Israel and that if it did, the Americans would vote against.”

The left-leaning Haaretz daily said Israel had been “sacrificed by the US on the altar of a successful conference” in what constituted “a diplomatic victory for Egypt” which has campaigned against Israel’s nuclear arsenal.
