Without love operating properly in every area of our life, it really amounts to waste and won’t stand the test of time.
The Word tell us that God is Love and we cannot know the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit with out Love. If you are in God and God is in you, there is His seed of love exisitng inside you somewhere. Evident or not it is in there and needs to dominate in all your activities. Being aware of the love of God for you is foundational, then as it germinates and sprouts forth the beginnings of discernment will be managing your soul and choices in everyday life. Understanding the character of your Heavenly Father takes some time and communication. Establishing relationship involves investment of time, vulnerability, truth, honesty, intimacy, even more intense than a covenant of marriage, but same priciples.
The odd thing most people do not realize in human relationships is, they cannot experience real aspects and all that love has to offer without The Trinity being the center piece and foundation for loving and lasting love.
It can be strived for and manipulated to be some form of mutual agreement and controlled by lust, but never by trust.
The very character of God living and abiding inside you has got to become a way of life, or all you will have is a vicious circle of frustration, jealousy, distrust until you move on to the next warm body, to only start over trying to create a temporary form of insanity. Back up for a moment and learn the character of God’s love and begin to let God live through you, reflecting His character. You will be much more desirable to everyone around you, especially your spouse!
1 Corinthians 13:3-7 (The Message)
3-7If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
Philippians 1:9-11 (The Message)
9-11So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.
