Are You Ready?

Jesus Christ Return

A thief does not come up to a house and knock on the door. Robbery is something that happens suddenly and at a time people do not expect it to occur. What about us in terms of Christ’s return? Should we not be ready? Do we not know the times and the seasons? Yes, we do. We have every reason to be able to be prepared should the “thief” arrive, that is, should Christ return.  ~John W. Ritenbaugh

1 Thessalonians 5:2

2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

We are close to the return of Jesus Christ; the world is filled with all kinds of signs of the end. They wear at us and worry us. We see them on television and hear them on the radio—everywhere we look, we see signs of the times. It is a stressful situation to be in, and still, Christ does not come. We say, “How long, Lord, will it be ’til You come?”

We can become neglectful. We can let our focus slip. We need to be exhorted and stirred.

Christ gives the first-century church a warning in Revelation 2:1-7, His message to the Ephesian church. He points out their problem. He gives them advice as to what they should do, and then at the end, He provides incentive for them to correct the situation that they had allowed themselves to deteriorate into.  ~John W. Ritenbaugh

Revelation 2:1-7

A Letter to the Church in Ephesus

1“To the messenger of the church in Ephesus, write:

The one who holds the seven stars in his right hand, the one who walks among the seven gold lamp stands, says: 2I know what you have done—how hard you have worked and how you have endured. I also know that you cannot tolerate wicked people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not apostles. You have discovered that they are liars. 3You have endured, suffered trouble because of my name, and have not grown weary. 4However, I have this against you: The love you had at first is gone. 5Remember how far you have fallen. Return to me and change the way you think and act, and do what you did at first. I will come to you and take your lamp stand from its place if you don’t change. 6But you have this in your favor—you hate what the Nicolaitans are doing. I also hate what they’re doing.

7“Let the person who has ears listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will give the privilege of eating from the tree of life, which stands in the paradise of God, to everyone who wins the victory.

Health Care, HOW DID THEY VOTE? – FIND YOUR STATE…

House Democrats pass historical health-care legislation
Here’s how the House voted on the Senate health-care bill March 21. The 219-212 vote was followed by another on a package of reconciliation fixes, which passed 220-211. Three Democrats switched their votes between the Senate bill and the reconciliation “fixes.” Reps. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) and Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) voted against the Senate bill but for the reconcilation bill. Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.) voted for the Senate bill but against the reconciliation bill.

Christians in South Korea Demand Japan’s Action

At a rally in central Seoul to mark the anniversary of the end of Japanese colonial rule, tens of thousands of South Korean Christians demanded on Sunday that Japan officially nullify a 1910 accord to annex the Korean peninsula. It is estimated that the event drew about 150,000 people while organisers claimed one million Christians took part in rallies and prayer services nationwide. Historians say a pro-Japanese government in Seoul was forced to sign the accord to help Japan annex the peninsula in 1910 until its World War II defeat in 1945. “We declare the 1910 accord invalid and want the Japanese government to clarify its official position about this,” the Christians said in a statement.  Naoto Kan, Prime Minister of Japan, offered an apology for Japan’s past actions, and is working to build stronger ties with South Korea.

CIA chief warns Iran could have nukes ready by 2012

June 28, 2010

SpaceDaily.com reports: “Iran has enough low-enriched uranium to make two weapons, which it could have prepared and ready for delivery as early as 2012, CIA director Leon Panetta warned Sunday.

‘We think they have enough low-enriched uranium for two weapons,’ Panetta told the ABC network’s ‘This Week’ program.

Tehran would need a year to enrich it fully to produce a bomb and it would take ‘another year to develop the kind of weapon delivery system in order to make that viable,’ he said.

Iran is under mounting international pressure over its suspect nuclear program, which the West fears masks a covert weapons drive.

The Islamic republic vehemently denies the charge, but has been flexing its military muscle mainly in the strategic Gulf region by staging regular war games and showcasing an array of Iran-manufactured missiles…”

US & Israel Warships in Suez May Be Prelude to Faceoff with Iran

Egypt allowed at least one Israeli and 11 American warships to pass through the Suez Canal as an Iranian flotilla approaches Gaza. Egypt closed the canal to protect the ships with thousands of soldiers, according to the British-based Arabic language newspaper Al Quds al-Arabi.

International agreements require Egypt to keep the Suez open even for warships, but the armada, led by the USS Truman with 5,000 sailors and marines, was the largest in years. Egypt closed the canal to fishing and other boats as the armada moved through the strategic passageway that connects the Red and Mediterranean Seas.

Despite Egypt’s reported refusal to block the canal to Iranian boats, the clearance for the American-Israeli fleet may be a warning to Iran it may face military opposition if the Iranian Red Crescent ship continues on course to Gaza.

Saudi Arabia gives Israel clear skies to attack Iranian nuclear sites…

Timesonline Reports:  Saudi Arabia has conducted tests to stand down its air defenses to enable Israeli jets to make a bombing raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Times can reveal.

To ensure the Israeli bombers pass freely, Riyadh has carried out tests to make certain its own jets are not scrambled and missile defence systems not activated. Once the Israelis are through, the kingdom’s air defences will return to full alert.

“The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way,” said a US defence source in the area. “They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren’t scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the [US] State Department.”

Despite tensions between them, Israel and Saudi Arabia share a mutual hostility to Iran.

‘We all know this. We will let them [the Israelis] through and see nothing,’ the Times quoted a Saudi government source as saying.

According to the report, the four main targets for an Israeli raid on Iran would be uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz and Qom, a gas storage development at Isfahan and a heavy-water reactor at Arak.

Secondary targets may include a Russian-built light water reactor at Bushehr, which could produce weapons-grade plutonium when complete…”

Pope Benedict Pleads for Forgiveness

Top Vatican officials — including the future Pope Benedict XVI — did not deny a priest who molested as many as 200 deaf boys, even though several American bishops repeatedly warned them that failure to act on the matter could embarrass the church, according to church files newly unearthed as part of a lawsuit.

Pope Benedict begged for forgiveness for the paedophile priest scandals that have shaken faith in the Roman Catholic Church.

The pontiff pledged to “do everything possible” to ensure that prelates don’t rape or molest children ever again.

Pope Benedict said: “And so it happened that, in this very year of joy for the sacrament of the priesthood, the sins of priests came to light, particularly the abuse of the little ones.

“We insistently beg forgiveness from God and from the persons involved, while promising to do everything possible to ensure that such abuse will never occur again.”

The Victims groups had been hoping for a mea cupla and clear-cut action plan to protect children weren’t satisfied, and his legacy at the Vatican office that dealt with sex abuse has come under scrutiny.

Egypt to strip men married to Israelis of citizenship

A Cairo court yesterday upheld a ruling to strip Egyptian men married to Israeli women of their citizenship in a case that has highlighted national sentiment towards Israel.

Judge Mohamed al-Husseini, sitting on the Supreme Administrative Court, said the interior ministry must ask the cabinet to take the necessary steps to strip Egyptian men married to Israeli women, and their children, of their citizenship.
The court said that each case should be considered separately, in a ruling that cannot be appealed.

The ruling reflects Egyptian sentiment towards Israel, more than 30 years after Egypt signed an unpopular peace deal with the Jewish state.
Before reading the verdict, Husseini said the case would not apply to Egyptian men married to Arab Israeli women.

“The case for (Egyptian) men married to Israeli Arab women is different to those married to Israeli women of Jewish origin because (Israeli Arabs) have lived under Israeli occupation,” Husseini told the court.
“The court’s decision is taking into account Egypt’s national security,” the judge said.

“The decision comes as Israel continues its assault on those who love peace. The latest example is the aggression against the aid boat which was heading towards the blockaded Gaza Strip,” he added.

On Monday, Israeli naval commandos raided a humanitarian flotilla carrying aid to the blockaded Gaza Strip, in a bungled operation that left nine pro-Palestinian activists dead and scores injured.

In 1979, Egypt became the first Arab country to sign a peace deal with Israel. Source: Gulf Times

Israel recoils as US backs nuclear move

The United States strong backing of a UN resolution for a nuclear-free Middle East that singles out Israel has both angered and deeply worried the Jewish state.

This United Nations resolution forces Israel to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), opening Israeli facilities for UN inspection.

Israel is believer to be the only Mid East nuclear power, and has maintained a policy of deliberate ambiguity about its capabilities since the mid-1960s.

The resolution singles out Israel but contains no mention of Iran’s nuclear program.

According to the top-selling Yediot Aharonot daily, the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was “furious with the Obama administration for having failed to prevent the resolution from passing… and for choosing to support it.”

“The American support for the resolution, after decades in which it supported Israel on this issue, came as a complete surprise,” the paper said.

“In the secret talks that Netanyahu held with Obama’s men… Israel was promised that the resolution would not focus on Israel and that if it did, the Americans would vote against.”

The left-leaning Haaretz daily said Israel had been “sacrificed by the US on the altar of a successful conference” in what constituted “a diplomatic victory for Egypt” which has campaigned against Israel’s nuclear arsenal.

At West Point, Obama Presses for New World Order to Defeat Al Qaeda

Fox News reports: “President Obama on Saturday vowed to press for a new international order ‘that can resolve the challenges of our times’ and help the United States defeat Al Qaeda and other threats to freedom.

Delivering the commencement speech at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Obama ticked off a list of lofty goals this new order could accomplish; from combating violent extremism to stopping the spread of nuclear weapons to stemming climate change and sustaining global growth.

While saying he was ‘clear-eyed about the shortfalls’ of the international system that has led many critics of the United Nations and other institutions to abandon multilateralism, Obama said the United States would move ahead on a policy of ‘national renewal and global leadership.’

‘We have succeeded by steering those currents in the direction of liberty and justice — so nations thrive by meeting their responsibilities, and face consequences when they don’t,’ he said.

Saturday’s comments suggest the Obama administration may be ready to more vigorously court the international community’s support, and further distance itself from the ‘distinctly American internationalism’ pursued by George W. Bush.

The Bush administration lobbied for support on issues like the removal of Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq, but at other times pursued unilateral action in defense of U.S. interests.

Obama said the United States would continue to pursue at least one Bush administration goal — the defeat of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan — and warned ‘there will be difficult days ahead.’ He also said international support would be a key to winning the battle…”

Check their constitutional rights at the school doors?

Original story By Joshua Rhett Miller

- FOXNews.com

Tensions are rising at a California high school where five students were sent home for wearing American flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo.

More than 200 Hispanic students reportedly skipped class on Thursday and marched to school district headquarters while chanting “we want respect” and “si se puedes” — “yes we can” — the Morgan Hill Times reported.

“We did this to support the Latino/Hispanic community,” Francine Roa, a 2005 Live Oak High School graduate, told the newspaper.

At least six Morgan Hill police vehicles traveled alongside the students, many of whom carried Mexican flags. No arrests were made related to the march, the newspaper reported.

Police have been told to be on alert for gang-related retaliation against the boys, according to Ken Jones, whose stepson, Daniel Galli, was one of the students who refused to turn their T-shirts inside-out when asked by a vice principal on Wednesday.

“We just want this whole thing to die down,” Jones told FoxNews.com. “We’re not trying to keep these flames firing.”

The five teens — Galli, Austin Carvalho, Matt Dariano, Dominic Maciel and Clayton Howard — were sitting at a table outside Live Oak High School Wednesday morning when Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez asked two of them to remove their American flag bandannas, one of the boys’ parents told FoxNews.com. The youths complied, but were asked to accompany Rodriguez to the principal’s office.

The students were then told they must turn their T-shirts inside-out or be sent home, though it would not be considered a suspension. Rodriguez told the students he did not want any fights to break out between Mexican-American students celebrating their heritage and those wearing American flags, the parent said.

But Jones said the preemptive action was unnecessary, and that Rodriguez “overstepped his bounds.”

“The issue was, there was nothing going on,” Jones told Fox News on Friday. “There was no sense of violence at all amongst the students, there was no conversation, there was no bullying.

“We just feel like the vice principal overstepped his bounds. He jumped in too quickly. We can understand he might be concerned something would happen, but there was no indication that was going to happen at all.”

Officials at the high school, a 1,300-student institution in Santa Clara County, near San Jose, have not returned several messages seeking comment.

As of late Thursday, Jones said the five boys’ parents have no plans to sue the school or Morgan Hill Unified School District, which has characterized the incident as “extremely unfortunate” and is conducting an ongoing investigation. Several attorneys have contacted the families offering to represent them pro bono, Jones said.

“We’re keeping an open mind,” he said. “We want to stand up for our First Amendment rights.”

He said the families are seeking an apology from school officials and want the students’ unexcused absences for leaving school to be expunged.

Galli said he frequently wears the American flag T-shirt to school and that he wasn’t trying to incite any tension. Asked if he wore the shirt to make a statement related to the ongoing immigration debate, Galli said, “No, it had absolutely nothing to do with that.”

District officials, meanwhile, sent a voicemail message in English and Spanish to all parents late Thursday.

“The Morgan Hill Unified School District does not prohibit nor do we discourage wearing patriotic clothing,” the message from Superintendent Wesley Smith said. “The incident on May 5 at Live Oak High School is extremely unfortunate. While campus safety is our primary concern and administrators made decisions yesterday in an attempt to ensure campus safety, students should not, and will not, be disciplined for wearing patriotic clothing. This situation and our response are under review.”

Asked if the district will be taking any steps to quell rising tensions at the school, a district official told FoxNews.com in an e-mail, “Our focus for [Thursday] was student safety. Students are safe and administrators are continuing to work through the investigation.”

Eugene Volokh, a professor of law at UCLA, said the students are protected under California Education Code 48950, which prohibits schools from enforcing a rule subjecting a high school student to disciplinary sanctions solely on the basis of conduct that, when engaged outside of campus, is protected by the First Amendment.

If the school could point to previous incidents sparked by students who wore garments with American flags, they could argue that the flag is likely to lead to “substantial disruption,” Volokh said.

“If, for example, there had been fights over similar things at past events, if there had been specific threats made. But if [school officials] just say, ‘Well, we think it might be offensive to people,’ that’s generally speaking not enough.”

Volokh said the students and their parents likely have a winning case on their hands if they decide to take the matter to court.

“Oh yes, it’s almost open and shut,” he said.

Endurance: Advice from our Father

It is in these times that it seems there is little we can depend on besides the Word of our Savior. It seems as though we have been saddled with oppression from our governments, and it is true! But we must be diligent in the reading of our Father’s word. No authority is allowed to be in power says the bible without the consent of our Father. “Romans 13:1-7″ Some authorities are allowed to be in power despite their corruption in order to further God’s plan for our return to the correct relationship with him as was planned in the garden. We must give the government the extent of respect that we are required while always submitting ourselves to the higher authority–God!

So I have left you some of his words of advisement.

Luke 21:9-19
When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”
Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
“But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.

Abbas to Obama: Impose Mideast peace solution

Abbas to Obama: Impose Mideast peace solution

April 24, 2010

Haaretz reports: “Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas urged the Obama administration on Saturday to impose a solution to the Middle East conflict that would give his people an independent state.

‘Mr. President [Barack Obama] and members of the American administration, since you believe in this [an independent Palestinian state], it is your duty to take steps toward a solution and to impose this solution,’ Abbas said in a speech.

Abbas made the remarks to members of his Fatah party in the West Bank city of Ramallah a day after talks there with Obama’s Middle East envoy. George Mitchell is in the region to try to revive peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.

‘We’ve asked them [the Obama administration] more than once: ‘Impose a solution,’‘ Abbas said.

Abbas also rejected the establishment of a Palestinian state within temporary borders, an idea he said was recently proposed for restarting peace talks.

In his speech, Abbas referred to recent proposals – apparently from Israel – for a temporary state but did not elaborate. Frankly, we will not accept the state with temporary borders, because it is being offered these days, he said…”

Jack Van Impe: “They’ll see the son of man, me, coming out of the clouds with power and great glory.  I’m coming to set up my kingdom.”  And, ladies and gentlemen, that’s right at the door.  Why?  Because the peace process is now beginning.  Now, it must be a seven year program or it’s not the one in the Bible.  And in Daniel 9:26, we see this global leader coming to power to make a seven-year peace contract.  In Daniel 9:26 and 27.  But it only lasts for 42 months.  It’s going to be broken.  So watch for what happens in the near future.  And the Bible calls it the “contract of death and hell”.  Isaiah 28:15. Why?  Because this world leader destroys many through this peace process.  Daniel 8:25.  How can he do that?  Because everyone’s saying it’s finally here, oh that which we’ve longed to see, peace, peace, it’s here!  But there’ll be no peace, Jeremiah 6:14 and Jeremiah 8:11.  For when they said peace and safety, then what?  “Sudden destruction cometh upon them” and that’s when Russia makes the move and we’ll talk about that just a little later.

But, how does this tie in with Christ’s return?  He’s the prince of peace, Isaiah 9:6, and when all has failed during the seven year period, he sets his foot upon the Mount of Olives in, uh, Zechariah 14 verse 4 and he sets up a peace for the ages to come.  And it says in Isaiah 2 verse 4 that when he comes, they’ll beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.  Come quickly, Lord Jesus.”

China’s shameful massacre of unborn girls

Gendercide: China’s shameful massacre of unborn girls means there will soon be 30m more men than women

In the cruel old China, baby girls were often left to die in the gutters. In the cruel modern China, they are aborted by the tens of millions, using all the latest technology.

There is an ugly new word for this mass slaughter: gendercide.

Thanks to a state policy which has limited many families to one child since 1979, combined with an ancient and ruthless prejudice in favor of sons, the world’s new superpower is beginning the century of its supremacy with an alarming surplus of males

Nothing like this has ever happened to any civilization before.

Whatever we have been used to and thought of as normal is coming to an end.
